YETI® Gasket Replacement Video
It is very important that the gasket be installed properly in order for it to perform correctly on your YETI Cooler. Please watch this video for the detailed instruction on replacing your gasket.
A few things to keep in mind both before and after you replace the gasket on your YETI Cooler:
1. All YETI gaskets are designed to minimize air exchange between the inside and outside of the cooler. Note – they are not designed to create vacuums or airtight seals. Under certain conditions a vacuum can be created when using a YETI cooler. Please understand that this is not the intent of the cooler’s design and even a pinhole can negate a vacuum by equalizing the air pressure.
2. Also, your gasket does not make your YETI Cooler a water-tight container. Although the gasket does a great job of keeping rain or boat spray out of your cooler, if a cooler full of ice water is tilted on its side, water will escape.
Note: The gasket on a YETI Cooler is much like the weather stripping on your car door or the front door of your home. These materials do a good job of minimizing air exchange, but they do not provide an air-tight or water-tight seal.
Please let us know if you have any question regarding the gasket installation or anything else.
