Wildly Stronger
YETI® coolers are built to take the rugged abuse that comes with the way we work and play. Unlike ordinary coolers, which are essentially “disposable,” a YETI® is made to last!
How many coolers have you owned? How long did they last? Can you count the broken hinges, latches and handles? How about the cracked corners and caved-in lids? Even the most expensive versions of these disposable coolers can’t take the punishment dished out by the average outdoorsman, let alone the pros. That’s why we make YETI premium coolers.
Rotational-molded construction (just like a whitewater kayak) makes a YETI®cooler virtually indestructible.
Ordinary coolers are injection and/or blow-molded. These processes are relatively inexpensive, high-volume manufacturing methods commonly used for everyday products like soda bottles. YETI coolers, on the other hand, are one-piece, rotational-molded (roto-molded), made of the same indestructible material as whitewater kayaks. This process is slower and more costly, but the result is a cooler with uniform wall thickness, thicker and stronger corners, and a dramatic durability advantage. Products that require long-term impact durability, like kayaks (which must withstand constant collisions with sharp rocks as they are propelled by raging water) are roto-molded. Once you handle a YETI you’ll notice the big difference.
YETI’s full-length, roto-molded hinge system will not fail.
The first thing to go on most coolers is the lid hinge. Whether it’s a door-style hinge or a molded plastic hinge, without much use at all, it is prone to fail. The lid hinge on a YETI is molded right into the cooler. A full-length aluminum rod connects and holds the body and lid together. And, hinge-stops are molded into the lid, so the hinge can’t hyper-extend and break.
YETI® lid latches are the same latches used on ATVs.
If you have an ATV, you’ll recognize the heavy-duty, rubber T-latches on a YETI cooler. They’re built to withstand the pounding an ATV dishes out and they’ll last for years on your YETI cooler. And so will the latch keepers. They’re molded directly into the body.
You can’t break the handles on a YETI®.
The handles on a YETI cooler are made from marine-grade nylon rope with a ribbed rubber grip. There’s no slippery plastic to hold onto while transferring it to a boat or a truck.Attachment points are integrated into the cooler body, so a handle can be replaced in minutes if it wears. How easy is it to break a handle on an ordinary cooler?
Screw-in, gasketed drain plug is leak-proof and rugged.
Broken or leaky drain plugs are another common problem with ordinary coolers. The drain plug on a YETI screws in and out and is extremely durable. It’s also gasketed, so It’s guaranteed leak-proof. Inside, adjacent to the drain plug, the cooler bottom contour is recessed, so you can drain every last drop of water.
Rubber feet prevent sliding and keep your YETI® up off the boat deck.
Other coolers can easily slide around on the deck of a boat or in the bed of a pickup, which can turn that cooler into a battering ram. YETI coolers feature specially-designed rubber feet. They resist sliding even in the most aggressive situations. And, because the feet keep the cooler off the deck, you can spray underneath, without moving the cooler.
Lockable lid, rubber-coated dry-goods rack, and available accessories.
YETI coolers also feature integrated padlock ports on both corners, for the protection of contents. And, they come with a rubber-coated dry-goods rack, to keep smaller perishables out of the water and off the bottom of the cooler. Plus, YETI offers several useful cooler accessories.
YETI® Tundra. Certified bear-proof!
YETI Tundra meets Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) standards for bear-resistant containers. They have been thoroughly tested in both controlled bear simulations and with wild grizzly bears. With locks in the integrated padlock ports, on two corners of a YETI Tundra cooler, grizzlies get nothing but frustrated.
