YETI Spotlight: Beattie Outdoor Productions
Here at YETI Coolers, it is no secret that we love fishing. Like most of you, we have to work and don’t get to be on the water nearly as much as we would like. When we need a little distraction, we turn to the work of Beattie Outdoor Productions (BOP). Founder R.A. Beattie, along with partner Joey Macomber, creates some of the best fishing footage out there. The cinematography is stunning, and the fish and locations are, well, simply amazing… like make you drool down the front of your shirt.
In 2009, BOP released the compilation DVD Nervous Water, which showcased four films shot across the world, from Texas and North Carolina to Slovenia and Papua New Guinea. It went on to earn the “Best Fishing” prize at the Fly Fishing Film Awards, was an official selection of the Fly Fishing Film Tour and was a smash success in the fly fishing world. Here is the Nervous Water trailer:
This year, BOP comes roaring back with the much-anticipated Off the Grid, which chronicles the pursuit of some very hard to reach, yet very rewarding, fishing places. As R.A. himself states, “The film is about places that are off the beaten path. It is about people that live the fly fishing lifestyle, not to be a name, but because fly fishing is part of their soul. It is about unspoken hatches, unknown fish, and Rivers that will go unnamed.” Although the DVD won’t be released until this summer, you can catch a special cut on this year’s Fly Fishing Film Tour. No doubt this will be another home run for BOP that leaves the rest of us longing for time on the water and tight lines.
On top of all this R.A. and Joey are great guys and friends of YETI Coolers. We are happy to work with inspiring people like them and look forward to more collaboration in the future. Here is a parting shot to give you a little taste of what is in store (YES, that is a beautiful casting platform). Oh yeah… you can stop drooling now.
